We designed a laser-cut flat-packed bamboo side-table that can be put together without tools, metal parts or glue and called it Arpu (after Harpocrates, the keeper of secrets).

Arpu's branding had to reflect the mind set of the hip ecologically-conscious potential buyer, as well as the ad hoc hand-made feel of the table itself. All this while invoking an easy-going feel that comes with waking up in the weekend, or sipping a cocktail in your salon.

To match this feel, I shot Arpu on frozen ground with the first morning sun seeping in. Trying to invoke the feeling of being under the warm blankets on a Sunday morning, smelling the coffee your partner already made.

The felt-marker-style hand lettering refers to the ad hoc and personal way Arpu is produced.

All of Arpu's laser cut parts can be stacked in a pack thats only 5 cm in height. Everything held together by a piece of overexcited paper tape.

The manual of how to assemble Arpu is filled with quirky call-outs and fun facts. Every manual includes a personal salutation and some free coasters are thrown in as gift.

Since Arpu can be flat-packed in a small package and easily sent as parcel, the webshop and social media are the main sales channels.
